Though my other Furtwangler CDs, issued by Tahra, sound much much better. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ You mean Tahra's Furtwangler CD is better than DG's Furtwangler? Or in general Tahra is better than DG? By the way, how $$$ you pay for the Furtwangler 1942-1944 box set 1 & 2? I am quite interested too!!! Does the mono record sound much worse than stereo? Thank you in advance!!! |

| [#2318] CHANNEL CLASSICS SACD TunaFish, I have a 4-CD set of Furtwangler conducting Beethoven and Brahms released by Tahra. The name of the set is "Furtwangler - Legendaires concerts d'apres-guerre" (in English: Furtwangler - Post-War Lengendary Concerts). I mean the sound quality of this Tahra set is better than the DG set (all mono recordings). For DG sets, volume 1: HK $220; volume 2: HK $260 For DG sets, the mono recording sounds worse than average stereo recordings. For Tahra set, the mono recording sounds better than some poor stereo recordings. |
