Chi, I would say the characteristic design of a cap matters more than the monetary value of the cap. TCC PIO caps are the design caps for most LEAK amps and so are their usage to bring out the 'stock' sound which are loved by LEAK fans. A group of us did a audition testing for two LEAK ST-20: my own ST-20with 4x TCC metalpack PIO 0.25uF vs Gingers' ST-20 with 4x Russian PIO 0.25uF (see picture below taken on the day) After the party, Gingers dashed to search for TCC caps at a high cost! r  |

But, I hesitate to put them in the caps and later found them leaking, and then have to remove them out. You know, I have bad soldering skill, doing so may hurt other parts or the delicate wirings inside. Are the lengths of the leads long enough for the connection? |
