Anyway I am pleased and eager to join your yumcha activity if brothers dun mind my shallow knowledge about Hi-Fi and the technically "low-end" gears I am using! I will be a humble listen but a "problematic" youth! This may be an impetus for urging me to make more money, upgrade a better gears in order to catch up your folks! George |

| [#2409] In the mood of Schubert's Winterreise george1977, The objective of yumcha gathering is to provide a platform for those R33 members to share their HiFi experience and joy in their hobbies. In fact, a few buddies have for one reason or another stopped holding any gears but are interested in sharing their past experience with others. IMHO, having ultra Hi-end or low-end gears is not essential. The most essential thing is whether you can achieve the best performance and balanced sound out of your gears. On the other hand, home visits have enlightened me a lot to improve and upgrade my perception and understanding on what HiFi and music should be. I am a newcomer on classical music and have many things awaiting to learn from you guys.:-) |

| [#2410] il trovatore hello eric and george, when it comes to trovatore, despite having the fine Domingo/Giulini recording, i just can't resist the powerful and electrifying performances of Bergonzi (DG) and Del Monaco (Decca). Bergonzi is indeed my great favorite next to Gedda in my top 5 list!  |

She breathes lives into every roles she sings, with emotions and feelings that touch and piece your heart. no other prima donna has her unique ability. Besides, her voice is the acid test to your system. If it is too harsh and strident, then there is something wrong. |

I fully agreed what you said, she has put herself into the role with full-hearted and involving attitude, no wonder I can feel the emotions of her role in either Puccini or Verdi operas! George  |

This disc of Nordic music is a wonderful disc full of tuneful short piece of music, most of them are for strings and will not cause any disturbance to family in late night listening. | [#2423] Khachaturian's symphony No 2 Khachaturian's symphony was rarely recorded, but his symphony have a lot of interesting moment. Khachaturian obvious act as a pioneer in modern music, with effective use of percussion instrument, the music full of red blooded russian spirit and raw passion. Gayneh-Suite was another interesting work, I am sure all of us must have heard of it, the theme was frequently used as background music in TV or films.  |
