| [#261] What are you listening to? ( classical music) chankaiming: Glad you can sleep and still listen to music! Good for the babe! Harnoncourt is good! Did you get the Aimard set from jpc? The Brilliant Classics period Mozart symphony set (Jaap ter Linden) is a delight. The Salzburg symphonies are almost on a par with Sandor Vegh's classic readings. The Brahms symphonies under Jaap van Zweden is fiery. The Sibelius under Kurt Sanderling is unbelieveable! Just finished Gulda's cycle! :-) I particularly liked the Op 109-111. |

I got my Aimard set from JPC for 10 Euro only , together with a few items by Harnoncourt, all with a good price. I am delighted that you are happy with what you brought. Gulda's set of Beethoven piano sonata is my first choice for a complete set. |

| [#263] What are you listening to? ( classical music) I still remember that I enjoyed giving bath to my baby. It was at summer time. After bathing I used to lie down on the bed placing my naked baby against my chest .... and then both of us would have a nice afternoon sleep. |

My baby girl was only 5.5lb at delivery (3 weeks ahead of schedule). She was not that good at all at feeding. She could take an hour to drink a small amount of milk. Her parents had to pay tons of care and love to get the job done. But that was many years ago la... :-) |

| [#272] What are you listening to? ( classical mus Good morning, Thanks for the kind words from all of you. Last night, I start off with Beethoven symphony No. 3&4 by Zinman. Zinman definitely have influenced by `period practice', his reading was urgent, clear and lean. Compared with Klemeperer 's version ( his 1955 mono version with philharmonia) , I understand why there was a controversy between Mendelssohn and Wagner on how fast Beethoven's symphony should be played in the 19th centurry. Although Zinman lack the gravity and drama of Klemperer, he is exciting, lively and vivid, I wonder which version Beethoven would prefer if he rise from his grave, but I am happy with both.  |
