| [#3288] Leak Club Gingers, This modification lowers the input sensitivity to so called 'low gain' at 500mV (i.e. 0.5V) to deliver the full rated output of 25W. But this input sensitivity level is still very high, vis-a-vis 1V sensitivity of many modern amps. So, after the modification, you still need to use a low gain preamp in order to match your 25+ well. As the mod changes the negative feedback loop, the sonic characterist would most likely be altered by the the mod. As this is a non-destructive modification and can be reverted back easily according to the mod proposer, there is no harm to experiment only if you want to. r |
