| [#3347] ETSC & ETRC & ESAC Members (44) That is what we leart....but it really difficult to apply on a typical living room as your speaker have to be placed almost 1/3 of the room length apart from the rear wall. ---------------------------------------------------- i don't think you should too hung up with the 1/3 thing. the worst place to put is at the middle of any parallel surfaces because there are all the nulls etc. any other positions are just compromise to reduce the effects of nulls and peaks. 1/3 is not the best either. to be exact i think it is 38% from a surface. once again this is only a compromise. this will only help you with low frequency. it won't help the mid and high which are not resonant based. to get rid of comb filter effect in the mid and high frequency, treat your first reflections. this provided you want to hear what's in the source. but if you want sound from everywhere, then don't bother. |
