Listening now to this classic disc by Kondrshin recorded in 1958, it recording totally belie its age, without doubt it is a demonstration disc for Hi Fi.

The music is very present to my ears, oriental melody mixed with Russian dancing rthythum, make my baby dance in his bed.

Primarily, I'm still repeating my new CD of Harnoncourt conducting BPO on Bach - absolutely beautiful. Yet, I'm also in the middle of a Brahms crave, so I went for the Bernstein's Brahms 4th as well which I really should have bought long time ago, but just didn't until last month. All box-sets are selling at low-price so this is a great opportunity.

I also have the disc you mention by Beecham, Beecham really played gracefully and elegantly, another disc by Beecham I found to be excellent was music by Grieg.

I Have never listened to Bernstein conduct Brahms, but have read some good review, hope you enjoy.
