| [#3417] 華山論劍 聽了兩晚Aida, 意猶未盡, 選了三段(Celesta Aida/ Ritorno Vincitor/O Patria Mia) 三位男高音(Domingo/ Bergonzi/Richard Tucker) 三位女高音(Callas/Caballe/Tebaldi) , 來個華山論劍. Celesta Aida 聖潔的Aida是進全劇的點題, Domingo的歌聲既深情又洪渾, 真能發揮Radames鐵漢柔情的特色, 但唱高音時力不從心. Bergonzi唱腔圓滑, 技巧純熟, 像王子多於將軍. Tucker不過不失, 性格模糊. Ritorno Vincitor Aida痛恨自己竟然祝福埃及部隊, 而忘記祖國正是和埃及對陣的一方. Maria Callas演繹真是生動, 由自責, 到自憐, 活龍活現. Caballe 演繹同樣生動, 只是誇張一點. Tebaldi則注重技巧, 比較冷漠. O Patria Mia `我的祖國' 是第三幕Aida在尼羅河畔懷念祖國的詠嘆調. Maria Callas這次真是鶴立雞群, 她唱`O patria mia, mai pi`u ti revedr`o(我的祖國, 不知何時回來)聲痍悀U, Caballe與Tebaldi均黯然失色. |

| [#3419] 華山論劍 hi ckm, i don't remember how the EMI/Domingo Aida recording is like and i will be interested to listen to Caballe in the title role. with Domingo, i have the one with Abbado and Katia Ricciarelli. i think KR's voice is too light for this heavy/ dramatic role, though she was also the choice for Turandot in Karajan's great set.  |

| [#3424] Mozart's Divertimenti Mozart was a good violist, and it was strange that he wrote only violin concerto in contrast with 27 piano concerto, but he wrote many fine music for violin and small band in form of Divertimenti and serenade. Actually in these small band music Mozart showed his genius, these music were written for family gatherings or occasions, ever delightful and never fail to amuse. Last night I listened to Divertimenti KV 287 & 205 for two violin viola bass two horn and basson, Mozart usually played first violin in his lifetime, the music flow naturely, a refreshing experience after three consecative night of Aida. Recording was of the highesst standard, Vegh's playing stole the limelight.  |

| [#3429] Wilhem Furtwangler, Sandor Vegh What do great conductors have in common? I venture to say they all have an innate understanding of the art of phrasing and balance. For birthday boy Furtwangler people pay all the attention to his rubato, gearing up and down, and less to his phrasing. For Sandor Vegh, when he conducts his Camerata Salzburg in small-scaled works, phrasing is what we hear. What a master. BTW, his Cappricio series is of demonstration sound quality, and original editions are highly prized by hifi nuts. |
