| [#3465] ETSC & ETRC & ESAC Members (44) Morning Limage, et. al. brethren, Recently I bought the Decca's 火車頭 CD, A journey to introduce stereo.. I enjoy most of the short pieces of music from it. For enjoyment and testing equipments, I find it better than the gift CD of the 2006 AV Show, which in fact is already very good. I look forward to the 2007 version. Have a good day! |

| [#3471] ETSC & ETRC & ESAC Members (44) drwkng, Which one do you want? Limage's Bernstein/Marilyn Horne is sonically superior. However, the Beecham/de los Angeles one is a classic. The Don Jose/Micaela duet is unbeatable by any version and de los Angeles' Je t'aime in her opening Habanera is just irresistible. Karajan/Leontyne Price version is a greatest studio achievement. Price is at her best and Mirella Freni at her warmest. The recording is one of Franco Corelli's richest but Karajan is bit too heavy.  |

Yet whenever I have the mood to listen to Carmen, my hands would invariably reach for the Bernstein copy as I fail to appreciate Karajan most of the time. I guess erictang has the biggest LP collection of this ballet I have encountered.  |
