I once believed that Rubinstein or Pires Noctune was the best I have ever heard, but after listening to Ivan Moravec last night, I must say that Moravec combine the best quality of Pollini, Pires and Rubinstein. Moravec have the magical touch and control of Pollini while he is also as sensitive as Pires and as fluent as Rubinstein, I am eager to continue with disc two tonight.

The only draw back of this double CD is its recording, the recording from 1965 pale when conpare with today's best standard.

In preparation for the NYPO concert listened to the Dvorak symphony no. 7 by Istvan Kertesz and LSO, a wide band DECCA LP recorded in the late sixties when both Kertesz and LSO were fresh to this work. Though not as famous as the New World, the seventh is every bit as charming and enduring. The reading by Kertesz is fresh, natural and spontaneous,with equally fresh and rustic display from the LSO made this symphony come to live. The recording sound is typically early DECCA,full bodied, a bit bass heavy, wide and deep soundstage,and natural instrumental timber,that made today's digital recording to shame.

Listened to this LP a few days ago, I didn't find any passage having the effect of "D小朋友走晒出來" as described by some local hifi maganize.
Maybe my speakers are not well positioned not to mention room coupled.

LYM 兄, do you find any passage having "D小朋友走晒出來" ?

第七張- Britten - Noye's Fluddle

第七張介紹是用來測試音場，比較冷門的作品，Britten 的 Noye's Fluddle.
這錄音不多，在amazon.com 上只有這款。Britten 是英國近代四B其中一位，其他為 Barbirolli, Beecham, Boult. 四位都封為Sir. 在戰後的英國 Britten 很紅。他是能身兼鋼琴家，指揮家，作曲家在一身的出色音樂家，近代只有Andre Previn。同時他也是有機會親自一作曲家身份指揮本人作品把所有作品多起馬錄過一遍。

這錄音早年比認為是天碟，Decca 的 Kenneth Wilkinson 錄音，在一個英國小城市的 Oxford Parish Church 現場錄音。故事是諾亞方舟，Britten 親自指揮，兒童扮演動物，有管弦，樂隊，獨唱合唱，舞台，加上動作。從hifi角度十分過癮。

前輩 YK　說這片是三絕，一直在他的CD天書上都上榜。台灣AudioArt的劉漢盛也在很多場合裡介紹這片。用來測試音場。

還是用五個領域來測試　；

１。舞台的感覺　這片錄得很好，你有沒有辦法把舞台的深度寬度，表達出來。有多深，有多寬。

２。兒童動物的移動　在曲中，動物在台上一邊跑到另外一邊，　一個跟一個，又沒有聽出來　

３。兒童有一段從後台跑到前台，你有沒有感到，你的舞台有多深。跑的時候舞台隆隆作響，這低頻地反應，延伸，你的系統交待得如何。

４。上帝講話的時候，他是在上天，高高的講話，還是在人間。你覺得是上帝還是平民。。。。。

５。這劇使用英語，比較容易聽，也可以用來測試你的系統，你能聽清楚歌唱和對白的發音嗎？
　　英語的 diction 也是系統的考驗，調得不好，會露出馬腳。

這片子音樂可能不是每一個人都完全接受，但是錄音工程的一大傑作。

我諗係諾亞放出的鴿子含著棕樹枝回來, 知大水已過, 動物門在船上開始一路唱哈利路亞一路下船走到台前繼續唱的那一段.
