| [#3762] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Timtube, I think there is little common ground for the comparison between Audiomaster 11A (F2A11 or EL34) and LEAK TL/25A other than fun, fun and fun. How did you compare 25A with 12.1? Both are KT66 amps. |

I recall reading the page on the Leak bible that tells the distortion pattern of various LEAK amps. TL12.1 has 1st and 2nd order distortion only at 10W. TL25A definitely has higher more complex distortion 1st, 2nd, 3rd.. harmonic distortion at 10W! I think LS3/5A does not do TL12.1 fairly by its 82.5 dB low efficiency. |

Cheung's DIY 'Williamson' amplification system is so huge and so much generously provided in every espect that it has to occupy a room. Wonderful! But I would wish to hear from Cheung if he have made any modifications to the Williamson amp design and is the KT66 output stage in a pentrode/ultralinear or a triode-wired mode? If it is the former case, the output power could be alike Heathkit W-5M, i.e. 25W. :) |

Another proof that Leak only sounds its best with TCC caps. And I think the Leak 25+ and other EL34 PP amp based on Mullard 5-20 circuit should benefit greatly with the addition of choke (as specified in the Mullard circuit). |
