| [#362] Western Electric amps and 西電胡 Today, I received 2 emails asking about the WE44A preamp, one is complaining about the high price, too bad, good things don't come cheap.What I can say is the WE44A is the most satisfying preamp I have ever heard, perhaps it is not the best money can buy but it worths every dollar you spent on it.I'm told by Mr Wu that WE44A component parts are running short, he has several orders in hand but certain parts are insufficient. My advice is, buy it now before Mr Wu stops producing it. |

I have escaped once from the 41+42 because it has only 2 watts which should not be able to drive any spks with moderate efficiency, not to mention my 15" TAD 1601a. The WE212D should have sufficient power to handle most contemparlary spk systems. Gordan, when we're going to hear it. |

| [#370] Western Electric amps and 西電胡 Gordan, the Goodall caps in my 44a do not sound as good in Mr Wu's system, it is too thick even I left them burning for 24 hours. Or may be my 44A has been working for more than 2 months, 10 hours a day, and your 44A is just fresh. Wait and see how it blends in when the burn-in period has been completed.The 44A sounds rush and tight when its new(not only the BG caps needs run-in), after several hundred hours of playing,the nasty rush and tense sound will go away, you will notice the preamp gradually settling down, and then you'll hear more music and less focus on the preamp. |

So we may still go for fun but pls don't pay too much aspiration. By i had contact somebody i just know via my friend and he may be able to get some old cap for us as he stated that he play HiFi for 40 years.
