| [#3852] Martha Argerich Lugano 2007 Just out this superbudget box of Argerich's live Lugano festival, chamber works performed by her (in about half of the works) and her friends, such as Gariela Montero, Sergio Tempo etc. Basically one 3-CD box for each year since 2002. All of them are eminently worthwhile. Listening to the first piece on CD1 now, a dynamic performance of Beethoven's "Ghost" trio by Argerich, Maisky and Renaud Capucon.  |

| [#3857] Borodin String Quartet Before that I listened to the Teldec Ultima reissue of Brahms String Quartets by the late Borodin (in the 90's). Dont be fool by the monochromatic cover art which as boring as it could be, the music was masterfullly played by the Borodins and sonicwise very well engineered. |

Not sure if it opens on Sunday as I find it closed once. | [#3865] 法國 About 法國, I've listend to a few concertos played by French cellists Fournier, Tortelier, Gendron , including Brahms Sonata, Chopin Sonata, Arpeggione Sonata by Fournier today. Though their playings are flawless, most of them are not my cup of tea. Nevertheless, I like their Bach Cello Suites. |

In CD1, there is Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker Suite" for two pianos arranged by Nicolas Economou. I totally agree with the comment in Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolas_Economou "Performers and critics alike have praised this arrangement, since all the musical colours portrayed by the orchestra are very well conveyed by two pianos." After listening to the piano version, I bet one will pay more attention to the inner detail the orchestral version.
