The very last version of Xf1 fat base Mullard has very deep brown and mostly black colour. ------------------------------------------------ This is an example quad of the late Xf1 Mullard fatbase EL34 - with double getter-rings, and dark brown base. They have etched codes as follows: 2x Mullard with big shield logo: Xf1/B1C2 2x EICO by Mullard logo: Xf1/B1I3 I believe both were made in 1961 at the Mullard Blackburn production plant. Pls. correct me if this is incorrect. r  |

The amplifer is a lot smaller physically than the TL/12, as it used the new "9-pin" power valves in the output stage configured in "ultra-linear" mode instead of the inefficient but very linear triode-connected KT-66's of the TL/12. Power output was 12 Watts, and distortion 0.1% of course.  |
