[#4502] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user HI,IF stereo50 useKT66 or 6L6 it can output how many watte? -------------------------------------------- In the 1950's, 25 Watts was a lot of power in domestic hi-fi terms, so the Leak Stereo 50 did not sell in large numbers (although in the USA where the less efficient acoustic suspension tyes of speakers introduced by AR were becoming popular, power outputs above 20 Watts were desirable). The Stereo 50 was introduced by Leak in 1958, alongside the lower powered Stereo 20. The Stereo 50 used the following circuit toplogy:

[#4507] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user TL12.1 is not too difficult to find if you can pay the price and do not mind having slightly unmatched pair. TL25A is the one which is impossible to find at any price.

[#4512] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user The TL/25A was a revision of the original TL/25 from the late 1940's which used cold-cathode tubes to derive the screen supply instead of the KT61 used here (information supplied by Patrick Cheffins). Like the TL/12, all the components used were of first rate quality, with large oversized transformers, and oil-filled paper capacitors in the power supply (no electrolytic capacitors.) The photos included here, are of amplifiers still in theatre service in Australia some 40 years after installation. The sound system in the theatre concerned was installed for the stage show "Kismet" in 1953, and featured six Leak TL/25A amplifiers, one Leak TL/12, and seven Leak Varislope III pre-amplifiers. ------------------------------------------- >>and featured six Leak TL/25A amplifiers<< Tim You should have an Australia trip : ) This is a personal taste. I like 25A but 12.1 has more bounce whilst listening to the "Lake, River & Water". John

[#4517] 最佳 中音 Speaker ~ WE755A (?) Hi, folks. I hope the party was good and I hope to join the next time as I am interested to find out the sound of TL12.1 with older Tannoys. But if the 15" cannot be found, 12" should be a good solution especially for HK environment.

[#4521] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user hello, i am a new Leak owner. just bought a pair of Leak TL12.1 amps from ebay and now in the process of restoring them both. having checked and found all the resistors have drifed quite a lot and caps are leaky, i decide to replace them all. started with one of the amp, resistors and caps are replaced with the cheap ones to make sure it works ok before upgrading to more expensive components. belows are my results - voltages at tubes ECC33 and the 2 KT66s are close to the expected values as indicated in the schematic - however, this is not the case for EF37A. here are the details: volts at both ends of R5 are 442V (vs 445V in schematic) and 361V EF37A anode volt is 137V (vs 80V in schematic) screen (pin 4) volt is 59V (vs 35V in schematic) cathode (pin 8) volt is 1.47V (vs 1.3V in schematic) can any experts in this forum comment whether these values are too bad and what might be the causes of problem? I have checked that the filtering cap C10 is functioning ok. Thanks
