[#4578] Dulce Pontes _______________________________________ You got it right, Sir! The concert was held in NJPAC (New Jersey Performance Art Center). It drew the whole Portuguese community. Everybody spoke a foreign language …except this fellow from China Town. Anyway I managed to get Dulce to autograph her CD booklet. Lucky me! She was absolutely nice and warm hearted! _______________________________________ ![]()

[#4580] 回覆(40): ________________________________________ Good morning guys! Let me tell a funny Classical Music story. With the recommendation of Trollope, I pre-register the "Les Introuvables" of Annie Fischer in Amazon.com few months ago. Tanuski was not expecting much when placing the order because he has searched extensively over the Internet. Out of the blue in September there came a congratulation e-invoice from a "Discriminator". It seemed to be about the purchase of a CD and the amount charged was $332.49 US dollars! That number definitely blew me out of the water. After a lot of struggling with Amazon, I realized there was a big mistake committed. The absent-minded Tanuski have forgotten to set a top limit in the "Willing to pay" column. That gave the robber a chance to sneak in from the backyard…. Eventually finding out I was not one of those authentic classical lovers, who have the prefix spot in the Orchestra of the Metropolitan Opera every season, the "Discriminator" decided to let the underdog go. Unfortunately the charge on my credit card took over a month before it was released. Enclosed is the notice of refund I received from Amazon.com yesterday. What is the lesson behind the incident? (1) Never trust or listen to Trollope"s recommendation from here on. (2) Annie Fischer is/ was nothing but a gold digger. (3) Borrow the CD from the public library, paid the lost & damage fine and save keep it forever. (4) Amazon.com is a booby trap. (5) Stay away from Classical music since it is too "expensive" for the common. (6) Start starving but begin to buy the season ticket from the Metropolitan Opera House to act wealthy. (7) Send flower and thanks "Discriminator" for being lenient. (8) Or…. encourage your Classical lover friends to pre-order from the same merchant so that they can experience more in life. After the incident, other seller realized the good fortune Annie Fischer brings. Out of a sudden there are 2 more parties who are lobbying the same CD in Amazon.com now. Oh yes! They behave better this time. At least all of them lowered and suppressed their greed to $200.00 USD. ________________________________________ Subject: Refund Confirmation Date: Mon, 31 Oct 2005 16:43:34 GMT From: "Amazon.com Payments" To: tanuski@earthlink.net Cc: payments-mail@amazon.com Reply-To: "Amazon.com Payments Customer Service" Greetings from Amazon.com, This notice serves as confirmation that we have initiated a refund in the amount of $332.49 for Order # 058-6858322-8765125 from paula@commspeed.net. Here are the details of your refund(s) related to this order. Item: Refund for Les Introuvables - Annie Fischer [Audio CD] Beethoven, L.V. Refund: $332.49 Reason for refund: Any miscellaneous credit, typically a customer service credit Memo from seller: Total refund for this order: $332.49 ________________________________________ ![]()

[#4582] Tanuski's canvas Dear Tanuski (and friends), Infinite in our desire yet limited in our means, we are all fallen gods who remember Heaven. The art of life is to know how to enjoy a little and to endure much. For one thing, I have never been able to find a budget for an amplifier that can do justice to the music that I like, and I am not talking about an excessively expensive machine. I make do with a sixth or seventh choice, and treat myself to a heel of Cheddar or a glass of single malt whisky (or both) to go with the music, which becomes, well, not exactly too bad. So, don't worry about avoiding temptation. As you grow older -- it will avoid you. Life is a great big canvas, throw all the paint on it you can. I enjoy all my Fischer CDs but I am not in any sense collecting them. Let me know, dear Tanuski, if it is your aim to become a serious collector and the 4-CD "Les Introuvables d'Annie Fischer" set is the only missing item in your Fischer collection, I shall be more than willing to give it to you. Having recommended her to you, I hold it my responsibility to complete your canvas.

[#4587] Barenboim ______________________________ Hello Trazom, How is thing going? It took me a while to realize what "old cake" in answer no. 5 means. My first reaction was a Black Forest or Tiramisu turned bad? If you say "old biscuit" I may catch it a lot faster. Anyhow I am definitely an "old cake". After reading an article or watching a movie, if you starting contemplating the lesson behind the scene, you are one of the biscuit inside the tin can. BTW Tanuski was not playing disappearance. I was totally occupied by the routine study and my creativity. Enclosed is the image of the volume I am devouring this week. It is a jolly good reader. If you do not have the chance to run through it yet, it is time to give it a try. Ch'ien Mu is a true scholar! What a knock out! What a book! ______________________________ ![]()

[#4588] Fischer Tanuski and trollope: Let's see if I can hunt down this Annie box for you. Another great pianist in the "Les Introuvables" series is the little known Marcelle Meyer, whom I think is unjustly neglected: http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index%3Dclassical-fr%26field-artist%3DMarcelle%20Meyer/402-2686292-1368960

[#4594] 花花 and 小白 I register as a fans of 小白 fans club, if she doesn't mind that I'm already 20 something... She looks so small and timid... doesn't look like 2.5 years old. Was it she who looked at the hi-fi searching for the cat (animal?) voice? I like both of your cats, reminds me of my 最好的時光, one that vanishes without a trace, as it should be... Fortune is not kind to me in this world. Yes I am soaked in Das Lied von der Erde these days. Tonight I am accompanied by Mr Klemperer and Ms Ludwig. Somehow I seem to like Mr Ferrier a little bit more. ![]()

[#4596] 花花 and 小白 __________________________ Dear Trollope, Finally I can really sit and consider replying your message. It is because talking about Wucius Wong is not a subject that one can take light heartedly. To start with I think you have keen eyes and picked a wonderful piece of his. The "Waterfall Dream 1" is a marvelous work; say compares to his 2004 Window Dreams series IMHO. I was quite closed to him in New York after he retired from Polytechnic. In a broad sense, I am one of his pupils. He hand held me through Adobe Illustrator version 3.3 in 1993. Shortly before he moved back to HK, I conducted an interview with him. The article was first published in the Artist magazine (Taiwan). Then it was reproduced in Ming Pao Monthly (HK). Wucius's understand of art and culture is astonishing. 2 years ago when I jumped over Hong Kong, Master Wong treated me lunch in the canteen of the HK Museum (Tsim Sha Tsui.) His mentioning of the relationship between future Art and the Plasma in every household was eye opening. In short I really own him a lot…... Wucius is one of the few that has my full respect. PS If I can locate a picture of Wucius in the near future, I was upload it and let everybody have a glimpse (of the master.) For the time being let's settle with a Dulce Pontes. The picture was taken in her reception thus it is totally legal. __________________________ ![]()
