If time available, I will bring my friend to your shop for auditioning of your phono eq. Btw, I was told that Aragon 24K is only famous of using the P&G volume control. But the sound is.............. you can imagine according to its 2nd hand value. |

I bought the Aragon 24K together with 4004 in 1992 and changed the 24K to Jadis JPL in almost no time at all. I kept the 4004 for about 2 years. Even if it is now a few grands only and not costing you much, I suggest you have better place to spend your money. |

| [#4671] ETSC & ETRC & ESAC Members (44) It's not that huge a difference. At that time the JPL was about 2 times as expensive but must be many times better than the 24K. I later changed to JPS2 which in my opinion must be 10 times better than the JPL. |

I have already had tube preamp for years. Once I have changed it into an Audiolabor preamp, I hear more detailed information from the LP (surely I used my DIY phono). Therefore, I want to find a solid state pre to test. There are many many good tube pre and solid state pre but price is a concern for a famous one that sounds good. Further to the comment from Stereophile and TAS, the Aragon 24K is a cheaper one that I can afford, in particular, it has phono and two pre-out. I don't much care to its comparison results with other pre (especially those expensive) as different design has different result and different person has different taste. I only focus on its performance, using a cheap pre that can drive a good sound stage and tonal balance for my music listening is okay. Hereunder what the reviewer wrote which I do think it is the character of Aragon 24K. Quoted " Aragon 24K a solid state preamp but sounds tubelike and demonstrated greater smoothness and musicality " |
