| [#5024] Man's "豐子愷談音樂" is an old book, I don't think this can be the original title. I visited the link you provided and read the table of contents therein. I have this book somewhere. Read it oh must be more than 30 years ago. A different title that begins with 西洋 ... Some outdated translation loan words: 朔拿大 for sonata etc. Doesn't really matter. Very good prose by a gentleman of a bygone era. |

Just notice these magazines are available in bookshops in Mongkok 星際 building. In 星際, there is also a 'Philips' Haebler playing Mozart CD set (10 CD or 11??). if my memory is correct, it is $22 per disc. |

I ask this question because the article mentions 'in Germany' but the orchestra in that DGG Tch #1 Richter/Karajan recording is 'Vienna Symphony Orchestra'. Just find the following from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000001GQD/qid=1134279015/sr=8-1/ref=__1/002-5881978-9424831?v=glance&s=classical Unfortunately, the accompanying Tchaikovsky is a dud. Karajan and Richter recorded this work together as a favor to a record-company executive, but they don't seem to be in sympathy. The conductor's excessive refinement holds the pianist back, and the result is much too restrained for the music.  |
