| [#5118] Yudina A connoisseur's pianist. There is a Russian vitality in her playing that is very touching. During WWII, she gave a concert of Bach's WTC. At the end of the concert, the great Russian piano school master Neuhaus took his pupil Richter to congratulate her in her dressing room. Richter played at her 1970 funeral. Included in this set: Bach's Goldberg, and Beethoven's Diabelli and Eroica variations. Recorded in the 1960s.  |

| [#5120] 江文也先生 大家好！ 多謝Trollope的Celi資料！ 大家曾經聽過江文也先生的音樂cd嗎？ 江文也是誰？我本來也不認識的，是一位音樂前輩介紹下，才留意到。 江文也，本名文彬，西元1910年6月11日出生於台北縣三芝鄉，祖籍是福建永定客家人，父親江溫均、母 親鄭氏，1914年舉家遷居廈門。1918年江文也進入廈門旭瀛書院求學，1922年母親病故，遂轉往日本長野縣，進入上田中學就讀。1929年中學畢業後，遵照父親遺囑進入東京武藏野高等工業學校電機科就讀，由於喜愛音樂，課餘時間前往上野音樂學校進修，選修聲樂與音樂基礎理論等課程，作曲老師是橋本國彥。1932年工業學校畢業後，隨即到一家印刷工廠當排版學徒，工作之餘拜日本名音樂家山田耕筰學習聲樂及作曲。同年秋天，參加日本第一屆音樂比賽，獲得聲樂獎入選；1933年再度獲獎，並獲藤原義江歌劇團團長賞識，聘為該團藝員，擔任男中音。 1930年代，江文也在日本樂壇逐漸展露過人的才華，在各項音樂比賽中屢獲大獎。1934年3月管絃樂《白鷺的幻想》獲得日本全國第三屆音樂比賽作曲祖第二名，1934年6月7日至8日，參加藤原義江歌劇團第一次公演，演出普契尼的《波希米亞人》。由於江文也在音樂方面的出色表現，獲得當時上田市長千金龍澤信子的芳心，而結為連理。1934年8月11日至19日，江文也參加留學日本的台灣習樂學生組成的「鄉土訪問音樂團」赴台公演，並特別為闊別已久的故鄉創作《台灣舞曲》，同時在巡迴公演之餘蒐集各地原住民歌謠。1935年管絃樂《盆頌主題交響曲》獲日本全國第三屆音樂比賽作曲祖第三名；1936年管絃樂曲《台灣舞曲》在德國柏林舉辦的地11屆奧林匹克運動會的文藝競賽中獲得二等獎，並榮獲大指揮家溫格納爾銀牌獎，這是江文也在世界的成名作品。 1937年管絃樂曲《賦格序曲》日本全國第六屆音樂比賽作曲祖第二名；1938年《鋼琴斷章小品集》在威尼斯舉行的第四屆國際音樂節，榮獲作曲獎。 1938年秋天，在前輩音樂教育家柯政和的邀請下，江文也轉往北平，在北平師範大學音樂系教授理論作曲課程，課餘從事中國古代和民俗音樂之研究。 1939年初江文也在認識一位北平第二女師音樂系學生吳蕊真，兩人極為投緣，江文也甚至為其改名為「吳韻真」，之後，兩人不顧家人反對而結為連理。 1938年至1945年是江文也創作產量最多的時期，他先後創作了釵h富有民族風格、旋律優美的作品，如《春曉》、《靜夜思》、《春夜洛城聞笛》、《漁翁樂》…等。1940年，舞劇《香妃傳》在東京高田舞蹈團演出；而管絃樂曲《孔廟大成樂章》，由江文也親自指揮日本新交響樂團，分別在3月及8月在東京放送局向中國、南洋、美國等地廣播。 1945年二次世界大戰結束後，江文也因為抗戰時期曾為親日組織「新民會」做事而遭逮捕入獄；出獄後，短暫在北平郊區一所回民中學任教，此時，江文也創作了大量的中國調式天主教聖歌。1950年江文也轉往天津中央大學音樂系擔任作曲教授，課餘仍勤奮創作。然而不幸的事卻一再發生，1957年江文也在「反右運動」因台灣人身份被畫右派，教學、演奏、出版的權利盡被剝奪；1966年「文化大革命」時挨批挨鬥，被打入「牛棚」；並在1969年被送往河北清風店第 38軍部隊接受勞改。1976年四人幫垮台，江文也在1978年終於獲得平反，恢復原教職，但此時他因為多年勞改生活，歷經兩次吐血、數次中風而癱瘓在床。在晚年生活漸趨安穩之時，江文也仍勉強創作交響樂曲《阿里山的歌聲》，然而卻在1983年10月24日因腦血栓症逝世於北京，此曲也成為未完成的最後遺作。  |

| [#5128] Le Grand Tango & other Dances - Naxos Le Grand Tango and other Dances for Cello and Piano - Naxos 8.550785 Maria Kliegel, Cello Bernd Glemser, Piano Listening to this CD (which I have mentioned before) tonight. Its sounds very good under my very old (17 or 18 year old) CD player that a very nice r33 friend resumed for me recently. Is it 人情聲 or 新不如舊; or both? I like track 10 - Gavotte by David Popper. the double notes starting at ~2:30 sound like 蘇格蘭風笛 to me. I played the piece when I was a student and today it recalls my memory on the good old days. "RTHK Radio 4"'s "Messiah in the Park" will take place on today (24 Dec, Sat) at the Olympic Square, Hong Kong Park (5 – 6:30 pm). Admissions FREE. ~~~~ I couldn't make it, but am listening to this. Sir Charles is probably the oldest active conductor now. This is a 1969 Kingsway Hall recording, released on CD in 1987, made in West Germany.  |

| [#5137] Christian Ferras - Brahms violin concerto Christian Ferras, a great French violonist, died relatively young at the age of 49 in 1982. This is a great recording. But personally I find Ferras' playing in the 3rd movement is a bit short of 彈跳.  |
