| [#5485] L. Stokowski. HI Trollope, The Box set of Stokowski you post is much more attractive to me, 1964 to 1975 in stereo recordings, 6 CDs. How is that ? Recommend ? Recently saw one of Furt's Box set of Beethoven syms.(selling $90 something 5 CDs?, I think) My "Repertoire of Today", a box set of Richard Strauss, Orchestral Works, Staatskapelle Dresden, Rudolf Kempe......still playing now... (EMI 5 73614 2). |

Hi Trazom, Decca "Original Masters" 系列的兩套 Stokowski 盒裝，我想可能以 Volume Two (475 6090 6) 那六張 CD較討好： http://www.deccaclassics.com/music/originalmasters/4756090.html 至於 Volume One (475 145-2) 那五張 CD，亦異彩紛陳，打頭陣的第一張 Orchestral Transcriptions 實屬史托老的金漆招牌貨，之後還有柴五、艾爾加謎語變奏曲等，亦久享盛名。 這兩套碟收了不少 first international CD releases，增加了收藏價值。If you have neither of these two sets, it may be wise to invest in Volume Two first. 錄音是一貫 Phase Four Stereo 酣暢乾爽一類，極 spectacular 之能事，絕對切合此公的音樂風格。竊以為多聽可能會悶，因為他板斧其實不多，奈何幾乎每次都 work。此公畢竟是點染音樂色彩的怪傑，我們還是要大書一個「服」字的。 |

| [#5495] Stokowski Decca Recordings 1965-1972 Hi pk, I bought those two Stokowski boxsets last April (at Percival Records). The captioned 5-CD set is in cardboard box. It does not say that it's Volume One. But the other 6-CD set, in plastic jewel case, says that it's "Volume 2". It's true that Volume One (2003) was released a year earlier than Volume Two (2004), but I should be surprised to hear that it has completely disappeared in the market. I wish you luck. |
