It is collected from post office today unexpectedly fast. In my experience, surface mail from US usually takes (more than) 6 weeks. | [#5545] Gould felt very baroque playing Brahms I don't have Gould's Bach WTC, so I would like to hear your opinion about the set. But no hurry at all. Gould had some way-out opinions about how baroque music should sound. I don't mind listening to his interpretations from time to time. --- In "The Unimportance of Being Oscar", Oscar Levant recalls a concert in which the Canadian Glenn Gould played the Brahms D Minor Concerto. "Gould gave a very languid interpretation to this pretentious work ... his rendition established a world's record. It lasted fifteen minutes longer than any previous playing. Afterward Irving Kolodin, the music editor of the 'Sunday Review', asked Gould why he had done it that way. He replied, "I felt very baroque." (from "Classic FM Musical Anecdotes", eds.
