| [#565] Any classical fans here? Hercules, Big speaker? No la. My system is only 12Wx2 int. amplifier and bookshelf speaker, not upgraded for 5 years already. Jazz? I seldom come across. Moreover, many disc await my digestion. I've just bought a set of Shostakovich string quartets (Fitzwilliam Qt./Decca) and his 24 preludes & Fugues (Nikolayeva/Hyperion). Bolero boring? Good wor.. :P |

| [#567] Any classical fans here? JT: I have both the CDs you've mentioned. They are really great. Please sit back and enjoy all Shostakovich music; 15 Sym., 15 quartets, his piano works and chamber music. You can forget his enormous output of filmscores at this stage. |

| [#571] Any classical fans here? Is Kondrashin set a complete set? Besides, I notice that Rostropovich has another set of Shostakovich Symphonies. Commentaries said that Rostropovich was a close friend of Shostakovich. So his interpretation is different from others in certain parts, and is somehow authoritative. How's your view? |
