| [#6222] Leak Club & Leak Users 755a have bandwidth even narrower than LS3/5A. I bought the cheaper 755C (better bass slam down to 40Hz) and going to add a tweeter, T27 (yes, 3/5A's tweeter) this will be a good match to extend the upper frequency to 40kHz. T27 resounance is at 1.9k Hz , for instance 3k crossover for 3/5A, so a complicated 18dB roll off is a must to keep the tweeter damped below resonance, result is a bit compressed on high frequency energy and transparency. I must say T27 is better match with 755 other than B110. However, by John and by TL12.1, 3/5A sound very good indeed. I will make a box for 755C. besides the 2 cu ft sloped box, I will also consider a bigger 3/5A style box. I may call it LS3/8A Dai har sai hehe! |

| [#6229] Leak Club & Leak Users Hi NEC and others, thanks for the response. My pair of 755A are light grey color early type WE, speaker boxes are the same as the picture. I've tried many amps, the best comes out from a homebrew SET using Mullard PX25, the next best probably is the WE124, but still very weak in the lower-mid and no response at all at about 80hz, actually it starts to roll off at about 100-120hz which by today's standard not acceptable. Can any high hand can help me to resolve the problem cause I like the 755A mid so much that I have been enduring its shortcomings for almost 10 years.Pls help me. |

You can electronic crossover 120Hz to a KEF B139, this guy down to 20Hz and you know who use them. plus a passive crossover 10kHz above to T27A I can imagine the music and scale coming out of these. |

| [#6233] Leak Club & Leak Users diytfy, thanks for the advice, I'm not sure the B139 can match the lightning fast of the 755A, I think a WE field coil such as the TA4181 can do the job, but I have no way to try one, I did try the WE754A, but the active crossover caused a problem to degrade the pure 755A sound.I've looked around in the web and other mag to find a solution, no one suggested any add on woofer for it. I guess I have to live with it without any low or simply dump it and change a new pair of speaker system, but that will take many years to make a new system sound its best. |

| [#6234] Leak Club & Leak Users diytfy, the best tweeter for the 755A or C is the Jensen RP302, I've tried and the cap value can be set at about 0.5uf.Among the caps I have tried, new and old, cheap and very expensive ones, the best comes from a 80 years old WE paper cap numbered 21CB, it measures at 1 uf, use two in series to get the desired value, its not easy to find, believe me, it has no sound at all as if the cap is not in the circuit. |

| [#6235] Leak Club & Leak Users Let me check if I could found the WE cap you mentioned. I think I have Jensen (but forget the horn's model number) and some other alnico horns and T27. This will comes true when could manage to squeeze time for making a box for my 755C. Also, let pull back your previous email, if the crossover did a mask on your 755A, you may run 755A it by-pass that. and the active cross-over just give you subwoofer and supertweeter range. |

To get there, you can take subway from the Guangzhou East train station and get off at 公園前 subway station. Then walk along 解放中路 towards 惠福西路 direction. Then you will be able to find 將軍東路 & 陶街. And you will also find the now famous 麗特 electronic shop on the G/F of 解中電器城 along 解放中路. And the shops extend even around the corner of 惠福西路. Best time to go is Saturday morning as there are still some hawkers stands selling parts. Should we organize a trip to go? |

| [#6239] Leak Club & Leak Users dd845, The M7 and MC 22 a quite different, I am saying in AB comparsion, i.e only the pre-amp are diffrent. M7 is thinner in voice and clear in strings. The MC is thicker, as you have noted, I would "more body" infemale vocie. Tino said he like MC 22 very much. They both give hours of enjoyment every-night. I think Tino and Ginger can give a more objective comparsion, hard to say whch one is better, depend on taste. |
