For CD-pre, I recently changed from a Kharma Supreme Reference to Ortofon 7NX Premium and find that I prefer the sound of high purity copper in my system rather than silver. |

| [#6321] Accuphase Fans I did use Siltech before (I think it was an SQ-28 XLR). Initially, I quite liked it because it has a nice "glow" and "luxury" feel to it. On longer term, I find it to impose too much of a colored sound and was not dynamic enough for my liking. The Kharma (I believe OEM'd by Siltech) keeps the glow but was more dynamic and neutral. However, I ultimately still find that the silver sound (although these two are already not thin sounding) was not for me. If you want something less expensive for CD-pre, the Nanotech Golden Strada is a cable worth checking out. Quite "nice" sounding. I also like Harmonix cables. As you can see, I am quite bitten by the Japanese snake, slowly converting most of my system into Japanese products... Have fun! |
