| [#6523] Brahms piano quartets I just noticed MELODIYA (Russian) has issued the first recording of the 3 Brahms piano quartets by Dubinsky and members of the original Borodin quartet instead of Turovsky and Golani. The pianisit Lybov Yedlina is the same person as Luba Edlina on Chandos. Possibly even better version! I am dying of curiosity. | [#6527] Beethoven Piano Concerto No.5 Listend to this beautifully recorded Piano Concerto No.5 . The 1st and 2nd movements played beautifully. Tempo of 3rd movement is rather slow which lacks the energy and power as in his 1964 recording with Haitink conducting the Concertgebouw Orchestra. About the concerto, I always the major chord that opens the first movement grant, firm, stable and is a unique signature of the piece. By listening to that chord, you can tell it is the 1st movement of Beethoven Piano Concerto No.5  |
