( classical mus Listened to Beethoven violin concerto last night, I have not listened to this classic version by Schneiderhan for a long time already, but it sounded as fresh as ever. Schneiderhan's silvery violin tone make the music sing, while Jochum atmospheric conducting set the stage for Schneiderhan. As an encore, Oistrakh played the two violin romance, Oistrakh's violin tone was more creamy and romantic, and his romance was also my all time favorite, an enjoyable porgram in every way.  |

( classical mus Last night, listened to Faure's piano music again, Faure's music sound like a mix of Chopin and Debussy, and very suitable for listening before sleep. The version I put into my CD player was by a Korean pianist Kun Woo Paik. Paik have recorded a complete cycle of Prokofiev Piano concerto on Naxos, and it was that CD that introduced me to this great but neglected pianist, his playing of Prokofiev was most exciting that make me sit on the edge of my seat. But his playing of Faure were so soft that I once doubt that whether it was coming from the same pianist, his romantic pianism was so sedative that I can sit back and enjoy this time.  |

Frankly speaking, I never found Brendel's Mozart convincing, his piano tone was too four square and never as poetic as Perahia or Barenboim. Despite univeral praise by critics, I remained unmoved.  |

She performed herself so great but always over-great! She likes showed-quali. If you really like to listen Schumann's Piano Concerto, please try Alfred Brendel in the Steinway Legends Series. Also, for the Chopin Piano concerto....listen to our Chinese young pianist Sa Chen, hope you like her too. |

( classical mus 邊個邊個, Argerich is a very controversal pianist, when she is on fire, she is really exciting, her Rachmaninov piano concerto No.3 is one example, her Prokofiev piano concerto no.3 is one of the best, and her Tchaikovsky piano concerto No.1 is most exciting and poetic. She is a good chamber pianist as well, her collaboration with Kremer is intimate and stylish, and their recording of Schumann's violin sonata is my brenchmark.  |
