The coupling of these two romantic works is a good idea and their orchestrations by Joseph James work. This CD is a minor achievement, and a fine one too, reminiscent of Rossini's sonatas for strings (with modern moments not unlike a film score, while remaining largely unaffected).

Recorded, in 24-bit, in London (2005-2006), released in March 2007.

(Joseph James is the name of two persons combined: Joseph Seeger and Francis James Brown.)

Dr. John,
I did nothing to please my Master. he is just so generous and kind to me. We worked together for not more than 2 years while he's the section head of my office. Last week, he moved to Dongguang and I inherited all hifi items including all his LP collected during the past 30 yers from him. Yet, I must admit that I am a lucky man.

I have gone through my master LP cllection and note that "從唱片收藏數量來看, MASTER喜歡蘇提爵士和卡拉楊指揮的作品. 作曲家則以柴可夫斯基,馬勒, 貝多芬, 莫札特的數量最多, 而且有多種版本."
