| [#6724] Experience on using WE300B & WE274 diytfy, Though I cannot use WE300B and WE274A/WE274B at the same time with my cloned WE91A, I had brought the tubes to my friend's home once before and used them on a pair of Melody 300B SET mono blocks. WE300B of the 90s production wins Full Music a street, while WE300B of the 50s wins the 90s production 20-30%. When adding a pair of 50s production WE274B, the sonic performance is much better with better extend of the high and low, and most important, with wider separation between the music instruments. But when using a pair of NOS 60s production WE274A, the music flows slower and thicker, but very emotional and musical. After the audtion, the WE274A stayed with my friend's amp as he said he could not listen music without them and I sold them to him at cost. For information, the equipment of my friend are as follows: Pre-amp: Melody 1688 Power amp: Melody 300B SET mono block Turntable: Linn LP-12 + Ittok + Benz Micro (not sure the model) Speakers: Verity Audio Fedelio floor stand speakers |

| [#6726] Experience on using WE300B & WE274 Tino, My experience is very similar to both yours. 274B is louder and wider while the 274a is more romantic and better vioin and vocals. These WE tubes are no difference than other NOS, olders sound better. I only got the 60's 274a and 300B and much fun on them. |

| [#6728] Experience on using WE300B & WE274 Never regret to have own then as a fever audiophile. Not a must to own a pair of 300A as you already got the 300B engrave base. You may look for Ed, Ad as Yuklee hing mentioned, or PX25. These are another heaven. |

| [#6729] Experience on using WE300B & WE274 Tino hing, Nothing is perfect la! I do not own any WE274 engraved base too. I only got a 60's pair. But based on what I can see, if you have the engraved 300B, there shouldn't be much difference in sonics with 300A. Should go as what Eric suggests, collect other vintage triodes such as PX25. |
