( classical mus What a busy day, last night listened to the two piano concerto by Mendelsohnn, although this work is not as famous as those by Mozart, Chopin or Beethoven, they very delightful work in romantic tradition. Sensitively played by Bejamin Frith, this disc is one of best CD in Naxos catalogue.  |

| [#667] What are you listening to? ( classical mus Last night, listened to Chopin's Mazurka played by one of the greatest Chopin pianist: Authur Rubinstein. Rubinstein unique sense of rthythum was really special, I cannot stopped tapping my feet while I listened. The recording quality fall short of today's standard, but I have no complaint as I was immersed in a bath of delightful music.  |

| [#671] What are you listening to? ( classical mus Listened to piano playing by another giant: Sviatoslav Richter played Schumann's Fantasie, Faschingsschwank aus Wien and Papillons. I am quite surprised that it was not included in the Great recording of the twentith century, in fact, it was probably the best Fantasie I have ever heard of, far superior to Pollini's version which have won universal acclaim. Comparing between the two, I found Pollini have better finish technically, but Richter created a dreamy atmosphere that put Pollini into shade. It was reissued on `Encore' series, but true music lover will not miss this disc.  |

| [#677] What are you listening to? ( classical mus Have been quite busy during the weekend, finally mamaged to sit down a listened for two disc last night. The first one was Wieniawski's two violin concerto, this two pieces was very demanding for violinist, but you will never noticed it as Wieniawski have infused many romantic melody between those technical passage. Bisengaliev playing was servicable, but he never impressed me. He is probably a good but not great violinist.  |

| [#678] What are you listening to? ( classical mus Thereafter I listened to Bruckner's symphony no.7 conducted by Chailly, this is a very good recording of this great work in stunning sound. The adagio form this symphony was especially moving, although I still consider Haitink's version with Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 1979 to be the best, I found Chailly's version not far behind.  |
