Since most of the preamp are using 12AX7 or 12AU7, we're better to use the same type of tubes in order to have a fair result e.g. telefunken ribbed type! ----------------------------------------------- There is no commercial German vintage pre-amp to my knowledge. The professional ones are for mic and do not have any volume control and is not comparable to the other pre-amp we want to test. There are perhaps only 2 vintage tube pre-amp from Britain with independent power supply - the Radford SC22P and HMV Stereoscope. I can bring one of them to the party. dd845 - any good news on the HMV? ======================================= Tim, yes I know most of the German preamp is mic preamps only. But we can add the volume control to treat it as general preamp. Anyone have V72/V74/V76 for bringing them for the preamp party? Does anyone have HH Scott 121 preamp? I beleive it is not bas as well. |
