In fact some preamps don't use the same tubes, e.g. 12AT7 in the case of 400CX, 12AU7 in the case of 80C! If we don't use the same set of tubes (which is infeasible if not impossible) but the same branded/type of tubes, we can keep preamps all powered up. This is the only real senario when we use our preamps. If we play each preamp for a few minutes' music only. It is possible to complete the tests in 3 hours even with 2 power amps. Some preamps, e.g. FISHERs and Marantzs, obviously have advantage over the EICOs driving the LEAK 25A. Must use a form to write down marks or we shall have forgotten when all preamps have been tested. |

| [#7312] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Yes, same brand/type of tubes is OK but even can take a lot of time to fix. If not, then we are just comparing Mullard 10M with TFK ECC803S instead of Marantz vs. Fisher. |
