| [#722] Western Electric amps and 西電胡 Daven 5db/step, total 10 steps=50db, there is only one position in this pot that has a very balanced sound, and it is so transparant and neutral that I can totally forget the existence of a pot in my preamp, I rank it at a par with the WE38 series resistors, no other 600ohm Daven/Techlab pots I have tried so far have similar results, pretty amazing. |

Do you have sufficient material to do wirewound volume, I suggest you make 2 vol pots for comparision, the wirewound type and the transformer type, if so we can forget about the Davens. |

| [#726] Western Electric amps and 西電胡 I forgot to mention, the sound I heard in Western Sound Inc which impressed me very much, I heard it once before, its in Mr Wu's workshop when he used WE106(WE349A version)+KS16608(modified by Mr Wu, using WE350B tubes)+JBL. Its not 100% the same, its very close in reproducing music with the unique Western Electric tone color. |

| [#740] Western Electric amps and 西電胡 Mr Wu,the 200ohm vol pot made by Western Sound sells at Y500,000 per piece.It has only a few steps, 3db per step,not sufficient for fine tuning the sound level. If you are able to make a pair using hand-made wirewound resistors as in the diagram, I'll pay whatever amount you ask.Of course, WE18 series resistors have all the values, but these resistors are not good in the signal path. |
