| [#7848] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Gingers, While you are enjoying kind words because of the cosmetic attraction of your 400CX-2, don't forget to check if the filament supply solid state rectifier is still providing the correct DC voltage to the 12AX7/7247 tubes, i.e. Pins 4+5, 9 = 6.3V or Pins 4, 5 (with Pin 9 idle) = 12.6V. Also, make sure that the various corresponding plate voltages at the R & L channels should be large on par! Good luck! |

If the DC filament voltage is not too bad, e.g. 10 V or below, the solid state rectifier may be continually used until the DC voltage really drops below 10 V for a setting which should be 12.6V, or 5 V for a setting which should be 6.3V. Of course this is only a rough estimation based on 20% deviation and the closer to 12.6 or 6.3V, the better! |
