May not be as impressive as in your place but there could be something of your interest, e.g a pair of Maihak V73, Siemens 6S Ela 2805, Marantz 9, Craftsmen C500 etc. driving speakers like Spendor BC1, Rogers LS3/5a 15ohm, KLH 6 and Klipsch Heresy＜＜ WHAT a wonderful collection in your office!!!!! | [#8148] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Fisher 400CX-2 arrived on 10 October and my EICO did not open voice for almost three weeks. I switched ST84 on today and still found that it sounds good to my ears though my 400CX-2 pre amplifier always occupies my tube amplifiers recently : )  |

| [#8149] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Yes John, I missed out some of my toys as some of them are not complete, e.g a single TL/25 Plus and a noisy pair of Scott 121C. I am actually working on a pair of RCA 45/245 which I expect very good sound. Also I have just set up a pair of Telefunken Klangbox with a matching Telefunken S-81 using 2x ECL86 in my study. They produce very good sound near field but without any bass at all. The Klangbox is a very efficient small horn load speaker particularly good at violin. I just put them at the 2 corners of my desk. You can imagine how "near" it is. I am trying to modify the filtering circuit to see if I can get anywhere. |

How's the sound of dynamic, 3D effect, detail,....and etc." you might be disappointed once you heard my system. it is very different from yours. your preamp has too much of a character i think which dictates to a large extent the sound of your TP1. however in my case, my whole system is very modern in sound including my preamp, 27M of course. it is not so sweet as yours but more real to me. i'm still waiting for my subwoofer to come. it does not seem to happen anytime soon. regards king |

Now I have more than one dozen with different brandnames : ) At this stage I found my Amperex with D getter is the best though my Telefunken did not arrive yet. Tube is addicted. I won another pair of Amperex this morning. Just like the tube boy logo : )Only 29 US dollars. However Telefunken EZ80 can be much more expensive :-( Tube is addicted : )  |

I only auditioned SCOTT 130 & 122 before. The latter is a beauty and very expensive. I hope you can fix your 121C soon. Curious to audition the 121C though a mono pre amplifier always trouble me to have a balance setting. Is SCOTT 122 = two 121C? John  |

| [#8154] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Grundig NF2 http://www.tube-classics.de/TC/GermanTubeHifi/Poweramps/Grundig%20NF2/NF2.htm ------------------------------------ Amps found in the bigger radio consoles and also part of a module line for DIY systems. I think this is one of my favourite EL84 PP amps. Its design is very simple and it sounds very well in original condition. It uses fixed bias and low feedback. Compared to many other EL84 amps (as Leak ST20) I sonically prefer this one (the Dyna 35 is very nice, too). History and Changes: Stereo-Endstufen-Chassis: Ultra rare earliest version of the EL84 PP amp (shown left). Some significant changes followed: Only this version uses a choke in the power supply and has trim pots to adjust the driver tubes !!!! NF2: The most common amp of these. Usually having a cage as dangerous voltages on upper side of chassis touchable. NF20: The NF20 is similar to the NF2 but provides DIN jacks for speaker connection. The earliest "NF2" (is was not its name yet) was designed to work without cage. So the lines voltage connector and the fuse are mounted inside / from the back side and not dangerously touchable (see right) from above as in the later models. These later NF2 / NF20 amps used octal sockets for the preamp and speaker connection. The first models used rare 9-pin connectors instead (see below).  |
