[#8326] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user thlee Before, I was also using Leak Varisplope stereo 2 with Leak st20 + Rogers LS5/9. But I cannot satisfy to this preamp. I don't know that is my preamp's condition not good enough. Later on, I change to use Marantz 7. That is a very very good preamp. Jeremy

[#8328] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user rsbn589 hing For my ear, 5/9's 音牆 is wider and stronger bass. But I think most important is matched to gears and the listening environment. specially, the listening environment, 5/9 depend on the room size is very much. It's cabinet size not very big but it need a big size room for audition. Jeremy

[#8330] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user rsbn589 hing Cong. your 18x18 feet room. it is good for many big speaker, of course, 5/9 is ok. By my ear, that should be similar midrange with 3/5A. Jeremy

[#8344] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user I was in John K's place today listening to his valve amps. The Telefunkun 6BM8 integrated amp certainly sounded very sweet with the LS35a. The champagne Leak TL25+ reminded me of my past experience, they certainly sounded more powerful than the Telefunkun, but they were not as refined. I was quite surprised with the Leak Stereo 50. The valves are three ECC83 for the ST50 and a EF86 and ECC81 for the TL25+. However the ST50 sounded a lot smoother and more refined than the TL25+. I certainly prefer the presentation of the ST50. Finally we listened to the TL12.1. They were the best of the lot, the midrange was clear and with great presence. Then I went to Vintage Sound with Tim and John. I finally had the chance to listen to the Eastern Electric EL34 integrated amp. Eastern Electric amps are highly praised in UK magazines and audio forums, especially the pre amp. The int amp is very refined with tight bass and clear midrange. The imaging is superb. However it is just a bit too clean and lean sounding, especially after a heavy dose of some good vintage valve amps. There is no doubt that the EE int amp will win many fans. Regards Hon
