I working perfectly and performe very nice music with my ProAc Super Tablette.... :) This power amp have produce alot of heat and the power resistor (R21=100R 3W) is really hot!! I'm worry this power amp will not durable... By the ways,when I switch on the power amp, have "pop" sound from my speaker. How to solve this problem?  |

The power transformer runs very warm, and can leak wax out from the bottom if operated for long periods on hot days (above 30 Celcius ambient). The author knows of several amplifiers in which the power transfomer has failed (in Australian conditions). http://www.hi-fiworld.co.uk/hfw/oldeworldehtml/leakstereo20.html A few words of warning on the service side. The mains transformer, as mentioned earlier, can be problematic. If you're thinking of purchasing a Stereo 20, check the underside for large amounts of wax which may have run out of the transformer if it's been overheating. More importantly, check the 100ohm, three-watt safety resistor (normally green in colour) is still fitted at the base of the board near the transformers. |

If the Stereo 20 becomes adnormal, the resistor will be melted itself to prevent from damage |

| [#8443] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Hi Leak fans, 'Spark Killer' Glad to see that Leak fans are paying attentions to fundemental issues as well as cosmetic and sound quality. Anyone fancy a go at a pair of TL10.1 To me, TL 10 is not the best sounding Leak amp but the most resonable priced quality one. If you like the sound of TL12plus or stereo 20, you would not be disappointed with a good running pair of TL10.1. I bought them for my Tannoy Gold but guys, not for too long as I am considering putting my York for sales. Best, Michael |
