"M" means basic manual operation with dual monophonic structure.  |

| [#8575] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Thanks for Richard hosting the party today showing me the power of the 27M preamp and the Fisher 80C after coupling caps replacement. I am most impressed with the 27M preamp; it proves itself to be a champion allrounder. The low output impedance makes it an easy match with virtually all types of power amps, including the troublesome professional german amps with only 600 ohm input impedance. It should be a good match for the more powerful V76 as well. The 6247 is an interesting looking little tube but it doesn't really sound like an ECC803S as it claims. Thanks for Richard giving me the nostalgia of the Harbeth HL Monitor which I owned back in 1979 or 1980. The sound differs quite a bit from my memory. At that time my Harbeth was driven by Conrad Johnson PV1 pre and Quad II power. The front end was Thorens 126 MkIII. Perhaps the difference really is on CD and LP, because I am sure the 27M + the Leak TL/12.1 clearly outperforms the CJ and Quad combination by miles. The Fisher 400CX has an excellent RIAA and I suggest Richard should upgrade his LP front-end in order not to waste the excellent Fisher. |
