[#8605] 世界上最易的十條問題 Gingers hing, The answers are not easy to me. The 'Black box' seems not black in color to me. Please see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_data_recorder

[#8609] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user This morning I tested the Quad II against Leak TL/25+, driving the 15 ohm 3/5a and the JR149. Test materials are mostly female vocals. Leak lovers want to guess the result?

[#8610] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user In my set up Quad II presents natural vocal, very good for background music. 25+ with KT66 presents a relative tight and full body presence : )

[#8612] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Totally agree with your perception, John. But I prefer the vocal presentation of Quad II although it is just no fight on the bass presented by Leak. It is a handicapped race though because I put in 4 EL37 for the Leak but just 4 Groove Tube KT66 for the Quad.

[#8613] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user EL37 is not my favourite but the fat bottle el37 is my dreammate : ) Is Groove Tube KT66 better than the vintage GEC KT66? Curious to know : )

[#8614] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Hi CP and Ginger I haven't listened to my Quad II for a few years, so I cannot comment on your findings. Last week I listened the TL25+ in Ginger's flat, the TL25+ is powerful for a vintage amp. Ginger has Stereo 5, Stereo 60 and TL25+. I suggest he should organise a party of these 3 amps. The result will be interesting. Hon

[#8615] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Gingers, I should return the Stereo 60 to you so that you could arrange the party. Are you free tomorrow? Patrick

[#8616] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Gingers, I will let you know how Groove Tube compares with GEC. The quad GEC KT66 just arrived at the door. Richard asked me to get a quad GEC for the Craftsmen C500 last time when he visited me. I did, but it really hurt my pocket.

[#8617] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Hon, How did you enjoy your Macau trip? Must be interesting. I have checked my Marcof PPA-1 battery power head amp and it is still working. When will you be leaving? I may be able to deliver to you for trial.

[#8618] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user I did another interesting comparison this afternoon. It was between a Leak Stereo20 and a Knight KN940 integrated amp. Both use 6BQ5 and around the same power output. But the Leak is more than double the price of the Knight. On LS3/5a, the Leak sounds much better with better resolution and ambience. However, when I used them to drive the Klipsch Heresy II, the Knight won in every aspect, although overall I must say the sound from 3/5a is much better than the Klipsch. Anyone experienced on horn load cares to comment?

[#8619] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user CP I have no much experience in Knight :-( WITH a quad of EL37, this Knight Kit (Allied Radio) KB-85 gave me a very good impression :-) ![]()

(b) same tubes used (6BQ5, etc) (c) use 16 ohm or 8 ohm output on Knight when driving Heresy? (d) same speaker stand/cable? (e) software used? (f) what 3/5a? I did some very rough comparison between a horn speaker and 3/5a, very roughly, the 3/5a were put on the horn speakers, the horn was on some thick paper sheets... |

[#8622] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user music22, For your info: a. the Knight Kn940 is an int. amp; a passive preamp Axiom 1.2k ohm was used for the Leak; b. both amps used Mullard 6BQ5 c. 4 ohm out was used on the Knight for Heresy; d. 3/5a on 24" Mission stand, Klipsch on 20" stand e. various types of CDs, including chinese female vocals, Eagles, Scheherazade and 2005 hifi show CD f. Rogers 15 ohm white belly What's your result on your comparison?

[#8623] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user 4 ohm out was used on the Knight for Heresy ***** interesting... why? better than 8 ohm and 16 ohm tap? well, put it this way... the 3/5a's were just put on the horn speakers..., and usually a listening area good for speakers with 15" woofer is probably not that fit for 3/5a, and vice versa and in that particular occasions, maybe because of the bigger area or lacking a 3/5a stand, or maybe more the amps used (Dynaco ST-35 and other single-ended 6BQ5 amps), the horn speaker was more impressive (well I mainly compared on jazz, string and orchestral music)

[#8624] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user you of course see that most factors are not favourable to the 3/5a
