第一個簽約中國的瑞典歌後索菲婭"格林11月3日下午2點30分親臨廣州金橋酒店與記者見面接受採訪，並將於11月12日在中山紀念堂召開中國巡迴演唱的首場演唱會。屆時，索菲婭將與小朋友以及神秘嘉賓同台獻藝，並用英文傾情演繹《味道》、《把悲傷留給自己》、《婚誓》、《2002年的第一場雪》、《女人花》等二十多首華語經典歌曲。
此次演唱會旨在答謝歌迷對索菲婭以及中國唱片廣州公司的支援。為此，索菲婭將演唱她中國第一張專輯堛滿m後來》、《十八姑娘一朵花》、《甜蜜蜜》等經典歌曲的英文版，以及她在世界巡演時的保留曲目如《茉莉花》等經典老歌，另有部分表演內容是她的第二、三張專輯中的曲目。屆時，廣州的歌迷朋友將有幸先睹為快，領略世界級明星的演出風采。
用英文演唱中國經典老歌與同一首歌可謂有異曲同工之妙。
據悉，索菲婭在廣州演唱會結束後將到北京、上海、成都、杭州、武漢、青島等地進行巡迴演出。

開創兩個“第一”

索菲婭是第一位簽約中國大陸錄製專輯的西方歌手、第一個錄製經典中國歌曲英文版專輯的歌手。明亮的雙，金黃的秀髮，溫婉的微笑，迷人的嗓音，有“瑞典銀狐”之稱的索菲婭"格林人如其聲，給人成熟、知性、美好的感覺。12歲就登臺表演，近20年的從藝經歷讓索菲婭顯出優雅嫻淑落落大方的氣質，舉手投足間透出一股成熟女性的高貴氣韻。
享“銀狐”美譽與莎拉"布萊曼齊名
索菲婭"格林曾獲得多項世界級的音樂、唱片大獎，特別是與世界級鋼琴家威爾斯的合作勘稱天外來音，“銀狐”美譽因此得名。旅居瑞典的著名歌唱家蔡大生介紹她，在歐洲索菲婭名聲與莎拉"布來曼相當，可謂大名鼎鼎。索菲婭不僅歌聲動人，而且表演才華出眾。1998年，她出演《MISS SAIGON》（瑞典版）女主角“ELLEN”並獲得最佳女主角獎，隨後的5年，在中國各大城市及英國倫敦等地舉行環球巡演。
專輯製作過程強強聯合
索菲婭人聲部分的錄製是由Johan Aberg以及瑞典斯德哥爾摩電子音樂製作集團的製作組合Joe&Rob完成的。在錄製過程中他們使用了優質的AKG 141 studio head phone和manley麥克風，這些對索菲婭的聲音處理起到了很大的作用。而她的音源是由中國唱片公司提供。
《索菲婭"格林》專輯由國內著名音樂製作人王厚明操刀監製。近來因監製中唱的《靡靡之音》發燒系列而在行內大熱的王厚明對索菲婭的演唱風格和整體音樂感的把握讚不絕口。他評價說：無論是索菲婭的個人聲線或是錄音技術都達到世界級水準，其演繹風格的靈動優雅不可多見。
《索菲婭"格林》專輯收錄30多首近年在華人地區傳唱甚廣的經典流行歌曲，在選曲上風格跨度較大，既有憂傷的情歌，又有綺麗的纏綿，更有中國民族傳統特色的民歌小調，而一直在歐洲長大的索菲婭能把很難準確把握情感尺度的幾首經典流行曲，用看似不經意的低吟淺唱演繹出來，卻給人一種深刻的共鳴感，讓人在傾聽中散掉原曲的憂傷，繼而以平靜如鏡的心態去看待前事和未來。
與國際接軌為運動會助威
中國唱片廣州公司羅天平總經理告訴記者：“索菲婭與中國唱片公司的簽約是我國音樂與國際音樂接軌的見證，也是中國音樂市場的一大突破，同時證明中國經濟的日益強大，並在贏得08年奧運會的主辦權上得到了完整的體現。中國唱片公司相信‘音樂無界限’，為了配合2008年奧運會、廣州亞運會的召開、推廣學習英語熱潮，溶入國際文化，我們打破地域的局限，引入瑞典實力派歌手Sofia Kallgren。”
當人們疑惑為什麼是Sofia Kallgren呢？中唱的音樂編輯告訴我們，索菲婭不僅聲音甜美、外形迷人、才藝出眾，而且在瑞典享有盛名、富有感染力，最重要是她對中國獨特的喜愛，這全都成為中唱公司選擇她的理由。
基於對中國的熱愛和嚮往，當中國唱片廣州公司意欲物色一位歐洲歌手錄製專輯時，索菲婭便欣然和應，並對所演唱的曲目詳盡瞭解，用自己對音樂的熱愛、對中國的深情和對生活的感悟，填寫出英文歌詞，使聽者在熟悉的旋律塈鋮鼒s的欣賞點和閃光點。“我相信音樂是構建在國與國之間的最好橋樑” 索菲婭如是說。
大手筆宣傳，社會各界支援
11月12日將于廣州市中山紀念堂舉行的索菲亞"格林個人演唱會，是由中國唱片公司聯合中國電子報及太平洋網股控下的廣州3G公司共同主辦，演唱會前期，三家公司皆投入大量的資金及人力進行宣傳與準備工作，得到社會各界的關注與支持。在宣傳渠道方面，本次演唱會突破了以往演唱會單一宣傳的形式，採用多媒體、多渠道、多方位結合，不但通過傳統媒體宣傳，還通過網路雜誌這一新興媒體及手機彩信、WAP、IVR聲訊等多種形式對歌後索菲亞進行宣傳與推廣。如彩信手機用戶，通過發送任意彩信到68981241111，就可以進行索菲亞彩信資料下載，而對於普通手機用戶，只鬚髮送“8”到0567867，就有機會獲取免費門票，諸如此類豐富多彩的操作方式使廣大歌迷有更多途徑瞭解索菲亞，並有更高的積極性參與演唱會。
專業音響將索菲婭天籟之音傳遍神州
索菲婭"格林，享有歌後之稱的瑞典著名女歌手，成為中國國際唱片總公司的首位國際簽約歌手，這次於2005年11月12日在廣州舉行的演唱會成為其簽約後的首次中國巡演的第一場，因而索菲婭本人及其經紀人公司和中唱總公司均相當重視，希望能為廣州的觀眾帶來一次高水準的音樂欣賞會。

I got a Studer B790 linear tracking turntable the other day. When it arrive, I'm determined to revive the Linn setup to have a serious comparison.

With the help of a China made capacitor tester (inexpensive!) which can discharge over 600V, we can pick out non-leaky Metalpack TCC capacitors for use in our LEAK amps. So far these caps remain good working and nice sounding.

So, 'Metalpack' TCCs are not necessarily all unuseable.

The EAR 834L is bedding in nicely. I have used it with a Leak Stereo 60. They are a good match. The more I listen to the St60, the more I like it. It has good bass control, but still too underpower for the ATC SCM12. I am thinking of getting a 200W transistor amp for the ATC. I have listened to the SCM20 driven by re-issue Marantz 9's, that's why I like ATC so much. I am now using the EAR/St60 with the AVI Neutron. I must admit the midrange of the Neutron is NOT as good as LS35a when vintage valve amps are used. The LS35a have got some magic about them in vocal.

The 834's gain is too high for TL12.1. I will need to attenuate the signal for the TL12.1

Send my regards to Paulson. I will ring him when I am in HK during Chinese new year.

My 3rd TL/25+ arrived. Unfortunately it's not plug and play. A lot of distortion.
I've checked the whole circuitry and it seemed to be alright. Although the components are not original, all their values are correct. May be it's something underneath the board that the previous owner has got it messed up. Need to dismantle the whole thing.
Incidentally I tried to compare this with my 1st 25+ which is from an Aussie broadcasting station with a non-original power transformer. It sounds great with EL37. However, when I checked the components, all the values are slightly different to the specifications. Will take some pictures and let you guys to give expert comments.

I used to have a pair of ATC SCM20S driven by Jadis JPS2 and reissue Marantz 9. The Jadis just cannot get the best high out of the ATC and eventually I changed the pre to ARC Reference I which cured the problem. The ARC is still a preamp I like very much. I later used a Mark ML335 for the ATC instead of the Maratz 9 because it solved one critical problem. The ATC is just too dull at low volume. At higher volume, it is very lively with the M9. The 335 can make it sound very lively even at low volume, seems something like the loudness switch on some preamps. May be this experience can give you some inspiration.

Remember the little passive preamp? Are you going to make one? I've let my friends compare it with Audio Note M3 and an Audio Space good preamp at their places. It's a killer.
Since I mentioned it somewhat in R33, there are now at least 3 other R33 members ordered it from Tim Stinson.

Regarding the distorted sound from the TL25+, have the coupling caps been replaced? Check the voltage across the cathode bypass resistors for each EL34. The coupling caps may be leaking DC. I also changed the 50uF cathode bypass caps, the old TCC Visconol caps were leaking oil all over the plastic sleeve. I am using Rifa ones because they look nice :-)

I agree that ATC speakers tend to be lifeless at low volume. I have had SCM20, active 10 and now SCM12. I had good success driving the passive SCM12 using Musical Fidelity A308 integrated amp. The best result was using a valve Vitale pre amp made by Croft to drive the power amp section of the A308. The bass was deep but the midrange is airy. I had a Bryston 4BST for a few months, it was a disaster driving the ATC, the bass was too tight and the sound was shut in. I am hoping to stay with the EAR and find a powerful transistor amp.

Sometimes, I just feel like selling the ATC and buy a subwoofer for the AVI Neutron or LS35a.
