Besides, I requested the in charge DCH staff
to invite Accuphase mgrs to HK next year
instead of Esoteric's.

So, DCH should learn what Obama says;

Refer to " How about pre-amp ?
What pre-amp you are using now ?

Needless to say, matching parter " Accuphase ".
But was mid-level model C-275V.
Since buying one set of C-275V + P-650 for
several yrs. For udgrading out P-650 for P-7000.
Up to this moment, still using C-275V.

At first my target is C-2410 but I use to add
AD-2810 analog disc input board and give up my
AD-275V unit ...... once again....adding $$$$$
Oh, hurt so bad ah ! Now, remain unchanged first.

@_@ No money just talk @_@

Someone offered me a brand-new C-2810
for $6x,xxx.00 last yr.
Wow, you really " take my breath away! "
I lost control at that moment.
What's in mind, I couldn't sleep at all,
Nothing but hope to apply for P Loan.
Just when I'm planning to do so.......
Tsunami, Black Clouds, lay off movement
stepping into Asia..........Ooh!

Once again, Life isn't fun at all..too bad!
Again and again I missed C-2410 & C-2810.

This afternoon I went to "Ah Yee" in Mongkok to audition Accuphase A65 stereo power amp. The room had the following equipment hooked up:

1. Esoteric's CDP and DAC (but I can't remember the model)
2. Mcintosh's 500 tube preamp
3. A65 (it wasn't switched on when I got there)
4. JM Lab Micro Berelium(can't spell) bookshelf.

The first track we listened was "Stop the world" from Diana Krall's "The girl in the other room" CD. And I tell you it sounded awful. The vocal sounded forward and the overall tonal balance was too bright. I couldn't bear to listening any longer, so half way through the song,I requested the salesman to skip the disc to No. 3 "Temptation". The opening drums sounded thin and lack of body and weight. I told the salesman the sound was way below my expectation and he told me that this was probably due to the fact that the A65 wasn't fully run-in and it was just switched on. I thanked the guy and left after just listening for two songs but he asked me to book in advance to listen again next time. But I don't think I will bother.

I then went to "Ying King" downstairs which also sells Accuphase. The salesman asked me "How can I help you". I said no thanks because I just listen to a system upstairs and was quite disappointed. I told him what the set-up was. And he answered:" No wonder you the sound was poor because both Esoteric and JM Lab were too analytical when put together. He said if the A65 were partnered with Tannoy, it would have been better. I think he is right...

如果4344後面選擇用 "External Crossover 290 Hz" , 但就不接駁電分, 直接揾2部power amp推Low & High, 後果會點?":

Answer:
1. Woofer reproducing some mid frequencies
2. Mide Range reproducing some low frequencies
3. They overlapped poorly, you hear some peaks/non-even response close to the cross-over freq. of 290 Hz (some 140-600Hz), there will be phase problems like phase cancellation etc.
4. The 10" mid-low driver could be damaged during high power level play backs as you also pumping extreme low freq. (bass) to it.

Please try try and tell us the results.

On a closer look, I find the actual accuphase products don't look as good as in photo. After the yesterday experience, I don't think I will buy an Accuphase products, there are plenty fish out there...As a lot audiophile says, Accuphase makes better power amps then its pre-amps..
