A side history of Dr. Partridge - According to Mr. E.D. Sowter (the senior Sowter that founded the Sowter transformer company, and of the same generation as Dr. Partridge), Dr. Partridge was killed in a bomb raid during WWII. A lot of his research papers were also destroyed at the same time. Also because of the sudden death, there was no official arrangement on how Partridge transformers should be inherited. Since then, the Partridge transformers are actually made by several different companies who has got hold of some of the left over papers left behind by Dr. Partridge. So it was quite a tragic story.

Yesterday I went to Tak Fat with Francis. One of bosses of the vintage shops at Tak Fat told me that he dared not to buy 12.1 as he was afraid that no one is willing to pay so much for a pair of 12.1 :-)

I did see a pair of RCA LMI-32216. They are nice. I also saw several Leak amplifiers. They look familiar to me as I saw them at eBay before :-)
