| [#1001] Western Electric amps and associated equip Mr Wu, after listening to the WE129A+P&C RIAA in your workshop, instinct drove me to re-tune my 44A, no matter how I triy,still cannot get the mid of the WE129A sound, not even close. One more thing I have to tell you,your clone WE stuff is getting better and better,recently, I have the chance to compare several original WE trans with yours,the original trans are good in the mid,however,insanely over-priced. |

| [#1014] Western Electric amps and associated equip Peter / Gordon, 4uf Cornell Dubilier as 1st filter cap in 44A sounds musical and rich. compared to 10uf, 4uf reduces B+ by 3-4 volts only. good to use 4uf instead. wu sifu, it's better use two 197A together. the total resistance in series is slightly lower than that of original choke. using one will raise B+ by 14v. with two 197A, soundstage is more stable, sound is smoother, with better texture. am listening to cello concertos now. thanks |
