So, clean up your VT-75 too! :) ------------------------------------------ As instructed by rcwy, my 25A came to Alex's with the VT75. As in a rush, I did not clean up any of my VT75 but this was the best quad of mine. They are not dirty though. At the beginning, thank you for Alex's hospitality first. Nice yumcha & talk. And I have to say thank you to JL who gave a drive :-) Alex is using AudioNote M3 and he is a M&M collector. I saw a both Marantz 8 & a as new vintage 8B and Mac 240..... etc. Alex has a relative big sitting room for LS3/5A. Alex was kind to allow us to reposition his LS3/5A facing the LONG side of his sitting room. There were 4 feet long from the back of LS3/5A to the windows. The length of the sitting room is around 30 feet. I hesistated whether a pair of LS3/5A can sing lound enough for such a big sitting room. Alex's Beam Echo really sang with his Goodmans LS3/5A. It is a pity Richard did nto bring along his EICO HF60. They are both on the top list of el34 amplifier. I am quite sure. A top class LS3/5A sound. I did not bring my DC. SAee my 25A with VT75. I regret not to buy NOS VT75 before :-( John Keung  |

I am glad to meet the endorsement by them that the HUM of 25A is not too annoyed and the sound somewhat more balance after the rebuilt :-) As a vintage lover, I seldom blame any tube amplifiers, alleged them they sound bad. The fact is ~ You will never know whether it had been restored to meet its circuit. Alex asked me how to compare 12.1 with 25A........ I told him I voted 12.1 in oder to balance Pang's comment. He loves 25A better. My pair need time to warm up. See the resistors & capacitors are new inside.  |
