| [#1075] Western Electric amps and associated equip I heard the new clone WE129A phono yesterday, it has much better tonal balance than the 347+348 version, but the sound image is a bit diffused suggesting lack of sufficient energy, and dynamics is restricted severely in complex passages, while the 347+348 version is slightly tilted towards the upper frequencies, it does not has an image wander and it does not restrict dynamics as I recall from my listening a few weeks ago, I think I need to give more time on both versions including side-by-side A/B listening, until then, my views towards the 2 clone WE129A are not conclusive. |
