But you don't really need a 1M grid stop resistor, which will significantly affect the sound. with the 1m resistor connected like this, it is no longer a grid stopper. now this is voltage divider with 1m and 22k. there is significant attentuation but it will work. now you need to add another resistor say 22k to replace the original 22k as the grid stopper. ________________________________________________ I see, seems it better to have an input VR like KY's BBC 12.1 wor..^^ |

The Williamsons were underperforming on that occassion because they were not correctly set. Some of the critical tubes had been changed to match the 25A. As Tim correctly said, the use of the Canadian Mullard 6J5 (red chili pepper) in the fist stage of the Williamsons has further improved sonic performance of the Williamsons. |

| [#11145] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user dd My V72 also want to meet your V69 so that I can enjoy the wonderful sound once again. Although the Rogers Williamson and TL25A were the stars of the show, the V72/V69 was most unforgettable. The V72/73 combination is already very beautiful, but they are only 4W. The V69 transcend the sound to a different level and in my opinion, the V72/V69 gave the best sound out of the 3/5a that I have ever listened. This is not meant to be offensive to any Leak lover, including myself.  |
