| [#11251] RE: CONVERTER FOR LEAK VARISLOPE STEREO PREAMP Hello there, Can anyone advise if possible to make diy convertor to plug onto the pre-out (8 pin output connector) of Varislope preamp, which consists/links with 2 female RCA connectors, enable branded RCA interconnect cables used between the pre-amp and RCA female connectors fitted on ST-20 power amplifier. I get the pre- and power amps currently connected with the original brown lead but expect to improve sonically with some better RCA interconnects to link up the amps. Please comment, thanks! |

I understand from the pictures of TL12 posted on this topic that there should be mushroom-like plug fitted to MONO power amp; But my case is: My gold-colored Varislope stereo pre-amp having 8-pin output connector at the rear, being plugged on by a lead connected and plugged to the other end to octal socket of my ST20, as interconnect. If I want to use other branded RCA interconnect cables, how can I connect them to the Varislope pre-amp, when their other ends plugged onto the 2 RCA female sockets on the ST-20 ? Is it necessary to make a special converter fitted with 2 RCA female sockets, plugged onto that 8-pin connector on the rear of Varislope preamp. Is this convertor available in the market or need to make to order? Thank you! |

| [#11256] Leak amp as used for Beatles recording! Interesting. I only know that Beatles specified V72/V73 as their recording amps and they brought along the V72 to USA during their trips as mic amp. At that time TFK specially made a transformer to step up 110V to 220V for the V series equipment to be used in US. This TFK transformer was offered at eBay from time to time. |

Hi buddys, It is the first time to hear that leak amp use for Beatles recording in Abbey Road studio, acturally, it is not strange because both Leak & Sound Sales are famous UK amp. Inside UK studio like Abbey Road, it is not strange can find Leak product, Beatles is from UK, they use UK amp as mixing amp is not strange, it is quite logic. However, the output is new version, not as good as the OLD one. Anyway, if you love UK amp, it is still good choice. Just my 2 cents. B. R. |
