It is a steal at $6xx. Average ＜$14 per CD. PRO SOUND in Central has them at great prices. Just some: Symphonies--ECO/Jeffrey Tate Piano concerti--Barenboim/ECO Violin concerti--Oistrakh Serenades/divertimenti--Consortium Classicum etc String Quartets--Heutling Violin sonata--Kagan/Richter Requiem--Frhubeck de Burgos Opearas--mostly Barenboim/all great singers  |

| [#1186] Hahn DG George, so far I have not been able to enjoy Hahn's DG CDs. The Bach concerti has a rough orchestra. the Paganini is poorly recorded IMHO. |

| [#1187] Brahms by Carmina Quartet Last night, I listened to Brahms string quartet No1&2 played by Carmina Quartet. Brahms chamber music was mellow and heart warming, always lyrical and emotional. Carmina Quartet's intepretation was rather cool headed, stress on classicalism rather than romanticism, personally I like my other version by Quartetto Italiano more. The miking was so close that I can hear the breath of every player which is intrusive sometimes. I prefer a more distant and resonant recording. My new carbinet have improved the bass performance of my system, Cello sound like a viola when my HPD driver was still in my old Lancester carbinet but really sound like a cello in my new carbinet.  |

| [#1203] !00 CDs 昨晚聽50CD set中Gilels彈貝四，想不到大個子俄國佬釋出難得的溫柔端莊，詩意盎然。骨子裡當然係技巧超群，控制簡潔有力，典形的"iron fist under the velvet"。 相比之下、Gulda版係較清新輕盈跳脫。 但Gilels係另一種令人心醉的溫婉風情。 1957的stereo錄音？質素順耳，收貨有餘。 |
