| [#13132] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user I was shocked to see a pair of 6SN7 could be so expensive :-( Ended at 1029 US!!!!! ---------------------------------- Yes, these 6SN7/VT231 have very a unusual, round-plate structure. The first time I saw such structure in 6SN7, which was dated 1945 (from the box) and could be one in the very first lots of 6SN7s that competed with 6F8G/VT99s in the post-WWII electronics market. My pair of KenRad round-plate 6F8G was dated 1941, producted during the WWII! Paying USD $1,000 for these round-plate 6SN7s.. why not a pair of round-plate 6F8G + adaptor (less than HK$800 in HK) as 6SN7? :)  |

TFK may sound even better but not have a chance to listen to it. Just a wild guess as TFK's price is the first surge in 6SN7 market. ---------------------------------------------- Diytfy, No need to fancy on TFK 6SN7. :) One of our friends who used a pair of TFK 6SN7 (ultra expensive!) in his EICO HF-60s completely denied the TFKs' desirability after hearing a pair of round-plate 6F8G (+adaptor) in the same monoblocs! |

| [#13139] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user rcwy, Got you and agree, 6F8G ( 56, 76, 27, 37..etc) by no means inferior than any later 6SN7. especially for diyers. However, I didn't pay much on tubes, my Sylvania metal bass come in the bulk with other 6SN7s in a cheap buy, when it's not famous. Gingers, ECC33 is not 6SN7, anyway 6SN7 never match good with Leak amp. puting a 6SN7 on TL12.1 sound downgraded like taking away the TCC couple cap. |
