| [#1369] What are you listening to? ( classical mus CKM Another versio of Peer Gynt worth trying is by Oliv Fjelstad(can't sure of exact spelling) and LSO. A Norwegian conductor with a strong Nordic feel. Revisited Beethoven piano concerto 4 by Wilhem Backhaus/Isserstedt/VPO. Still my top choice after all these years. Backhaus gave astrong,majestic and assertive account, yet with no lack of lyrism esp. in the slow middle movement. the support by Isserstedt/VPO cannot be criticised. Continue with Beethoven violin sonata no.7 by Zino Francescatti/Robert Casadesus,the grand master of previous generation from France. Here the style is completely different,intimate and lyrical with ravishing beautiful tone that is magical. |

| [#1376] What are you listening to? ( classical mus Robert Casadesus again. This time he was playing Mozart piano concerto 24 together with George szell and Cleveland Orchestra. For Mozart I always like lady pianist--Clara Haskil,Lily Kraus, Annie Fischer,-Casadesus is an exception.His style is delicate and elegant, his touching refined, and with structural integrity maintained throughout. |

| [#1378] What are you listening to? ( classical mus Clara Haskil introducted me to the world of Mozart's piano concerto, her vulnerbale style of playing was my all time reference. I also love the playing of Barenboim, his playing was fluent and romantic. I would rate his Mozart piano concerto very highly. Most pianist can play Mozart reasonable well, the only pianist I dislike was Brendel, the music simply sounded unnatural under his hand.  |

Their playing cannot be more different from Barenboim or Haskil, but distinctive anyway  |

( classical mus Last night, listened to Ravel's Daphnis et Chlom conducted by Charles Dutoit, although I am not too famaliar with the music and it is the only version I have, I can say that this disc is excellent both in terms of music, perfromance and recording. The music was original written for Ballet and full of jazz and oriental element. The recording was in demonstrative quality.  |
