| [#14244] Leak Club -Collector I had the pleasure of visiting dd845's place to listen to his Leak collection. In only a couple of years, dd has collected an impressive range of Leak amps. His skill of restoration is unsurpassed, calling him a master is an understatement! Ginger's TL25a was compared with the rare TL50+ monoblocks and TL12.1. There has been a lot of reports of the 12.1 and 25a so I am not going to say much about them. My memory of the TL50+ is vague since I sold them quite a few years ago. dd's TL50+ produced a very wide soundstage and the midrange is much better than I can remember. They can throw a very BIG sound towards you with plenty of powerful bass drive. However, finesse & refinement are not as good as the 25A and 12.1. I find them a bit too fierce and overpowering sometimes which can result in fatigue. If you like power and glory, the TL50+ are definitely the right amps for you! Ginger and dd took quite a few photos of the collection. I think they are probably the most famous Leak collectors in the world! Hon |
